Write an equation for the line, given the that m=3 and the y-intercept is (0,2)

where, m is slope and b is y-intercept. We need to find the equation of line whose slope is m=3 and the y-intercept is (0,2). Substitute m=3 and b=2 in equation (1), to find the equation of required line.

y=(3)x+(2)

y=3x+2

Therefore the equation of required line is y=3x+2.

All equations of lines must be wrote in the form: Y=mx+c

m= the gradient
c= y intercept

Y= 3x+2
