treat the < or > as an equals, so...
6n - 3 = -18
6n = -18+3 ( get all n on the same side)
6n = -15 (add like terms)
n= -15/6 (get n on its own)
n = -2.5
n > -2.5 (don't forget to put the < or > sign back in the place of =)

Hey there!

6n - 3 > -18

ADD 3 to BOTH SIDES

6n - 3 + 3 > -18 + 3

CANCEL out: -3 + 3 because it give you 0

KEEP: -18 + 3 because it helps solve for the n-value

NEW EQUATIONs 6n > -18 + 3

SIMPLIFY IT!

6n > -15

DIVIDE 6 to BOTH SIDES

6n/6 > -15/6

CANCEL puts 6/6 because it give you 1

KEEP: -15/6 because it help solve for the n-value

NEW EQUATION: n > -15/2

SIMPLIFY IT!

n > -5/2

Therefore, your answer is: n > -5/2

Good luck on your assignment & enjoy your day!
