A. Descriptive and narrative.

Descriptive and narrative essays are most likely to be written in first person point of view because they are essays about something the author has experienced. A personal narrative is autobiographical. It is about a moment in the author's life that has had a significant impact on how he or she views the world. A descriptive essay is an essay in which the author describes a places, person, or situation. These all rely on the author's prior knowledge.

Persuasive essays should NOT be written in first person point of view. Writing them in first person makes the essay sound too personal and not authoritative enough. Expository essays also should not be written in first person point of view because they are not about the author.
