N-3n =14n-4n:
1. n-3n+4n=14
2. 2n=14
3. 14 divided by 2=7
N=7

You want to get n on one side and your number on another so you want to take
N-3n=14-4n
Get all your n's on one side:
N-3n+4n=14
Combine like terms:
2n=14
Divide by 2:
N=7
