If the absolute value of a negative number is 2.78 what is the distance on the number line between the number number it's absolute value? Explain your answer.

the answer should be 5.56 in its distance

The absolute value of a number is its positive distance from zero. You'd just multiply this distance by 2, to get from -2.78 to 0 and then from 0 to 2.78
