Geometry please help

Segment BD is a perpendicular bisector of segment AC. AB = 5x and CB = 2x + 24. What is the length of line CB?

Because BD is a bisector of AC then AB=CB
AB=CB
5x=2x +24

Then you can use algebra to solve....

5x -2x= 2x -2x +24
Subtract 2x from each side
3x=24
Divide both sides by 3 to get X=8

Then put 8 in for x in 2x + 24
2(2) + 24
4 + 24
28

CB=28
