8(x+3)-2x = 8x+24-16x. use the distributive property.

Simplifying 8(x + 3) + -2x Reorder the terms: 8(3 + x) + -2x (3 * 8 + x * 8) + -2x (24 + 8x) + -2x Combine like terms: 8x + -2x = 6x 24 + 6x
