Solve the equation. 6x + 7 = 8x – 15

6x+7=8x-15
-6x -6x

7= 2x - 15
+15 +15

22=2x

2x/2 22/2=11

1 st step :isolate or subtract 6 in both sides as shown above.You subtract because you do the opposite of adding.

2nd step: the 6x you subtracted on the left side gets canceled. Than you bring the other numbers down so 7=2x-15.After, that isolate or add 15 in both sides as shown above. You will get 22=2x

3rd step: You need x by itself so divide 2 in each side as shown above.

4 th step : the answer is 11
