When a work has two authors with the same last name but different first names, how are they listed in Works Cited?

A. Alphabetically by last name and middle initial
B. Alphabetically by the middle initial
C. Alphabetically by first name
D. Alphabetically by the last name

Answer: C



If there are two different authors with the same last name but different first names they should be cited alphabetically by first name. And in order for the readers to differentiate them we include the first and middle initials and then the last name. For example, A.B. Heckels (2001) and D. E. Heckels (2001).
