Represent the shorter sides as x and the longer side as x + 5You know the Perimeter has to equal the sum of all three sides which is 29.So the equation to solve for x is 29 = x + x + (x + 5)
Each x is a shorter side and the 5+x is the long side. so then just solve for x.29 = 3x + 5 subtract 5 from each side29 - 5 = 3x24 = 3x then divide each side by 324/3 = x8 = x x equals 8 so each short side is 8m long. to get the length of the long side add 5+8=13m
