A company sells a mix of peanuts and cashews. For every 3 ounces of peanuts, there are 2 ounces of cashews. A batch has 60 ounces of peanuts. How many ounces of cashews will a batch have?

There is a 3:2 ratio of peanuts to cashews. We need to find how many ounces of cashews there are when there are 60 ounces of peanuts, so:

60:?

60 divided by 3 is 20

therefore 2 x 20 = 40

40 ounces of cashews

Hope this helps :)

You start by dividing 60 by 3 which equals 20. There are 20, 3 ounces of peanuts, lol. That's a little confusing. Then take the 20 and multiply it by 2 which equals 40. If a batch has 60 ounces of peanuts it'll also have 40 ounces of cashews.
60/3=20
20*2=40
Your answer is 40 ounces.
