Answer: 70 AD

The First Jewish-Roman War ended in 70 AD with the Siege of Jerusalem. Emperor Titus, as leader of the Roman Army, besieged and conquered the city of Jerusalem. The Army also burned the Second Temple and sacked the Lower City. This destruction is commemorated annually by the Jewish fast Tisha B'Av. The Arch of Titus that celebrates this victory can still be seen in Rome.
