2(1)/(2)=(2*2+1)/(2)=(5)/(2)\\\\1(1)/(7)=(1*7+1)/(7)=(8)/(7)\\\\2(1)/(2):1(1)/(7)=(5)/(2):(8)/(7)=(5)/(2)*(7)/(8)=(35)/(16)=(32+3)/(16)=(32)/(16)+(3)/(16)=\boxed{2(3)/(16)}

I'm going to change those to 5/2 and 8/7
Dividing is the same multiplying by the reciprocal (reciprocal of x is 1/x, reciprocal of x/y is y/x)
So (5/2)/(8/7)=(5/2)*(7/8)=(5*7)/(2*8)=35/16
Final answer: 35/16
