In a Baroque da capo movement, it is customary to improvise ornaments during the first A section.
The da capo aria is a vocal shape utilized principally in the Baroque Era. It is in ternary shape (ABA'). The A area or section is in the tonic key, and the B segment is regularly in a minor key with the state of mind much of the time being more intelligent. In the rehash of the A segment (A'), the artist would exhibit their vocal virtuosity by extemporizing and ornamenting the melodic line; the artist would include trills, acciaccaturas, mordents, appoggiaturas, runs, and hops all to flaunt their ability as an artist. Toward the finish of the rehashed segment, it was standard to include a cadenza.
