If x=-3 and y=-2 find z when 2x+y^2.

Plug in the numbers
x=-3
y=-2

Equation: z=2x+y^2
z=2(-3)+(-2)^2
==>-6+(-2)^2
==>-6+(4)
==>-2
z=-2
