x = 9 becuase:
8 times 9 equals 72, then 72 minus 28 equals 44.
My work:
8x-28=44
+28 +28
___________
8x = 72
72 divided by 8 = 9

the value of x is 9 add 28 to 44 which is 72 then divide by 8
