The right answer is C.)fire on Fort Sumter or let it be replenished.

On April 9, President Jefferson Davis and his Confederate government in Montgomery, Alabama, decided to reject Lincoln’s effort to resupply the Fort Sumter. The local Confederate commander, Brig. Gen. Pierre G. T. Beauregard asked Maj. Robert Anderson to surrender, but received a formal surrender rejection. The Confederate batteries started a 34-hour bombardment and had the Federal fort surrender on April 14, 1861.
