Enlightenment didn't really change the world but it did change America. Enlightenment were based off of ideas of Natural Rights, Social Contract, and others. Natural rights influenced the government to let their people have "some" freedom and the Social Contract made the citizens give up some freedom for protection, freedom, and property. Hope this helps!
