Let's say that d is distance, and the formula is as follows;
d=
\sqrt{(x_(2)- x_(1) ) ^(2)+ (y_(2)- y_(1) ) ^(2)

This means that with the values filled in we have an equation that looks like;

d= \sqrt{(7-1)^(2)+(-7-1)^(2)}

Therefore solving would look like;

d= \sqrt{(7-1)^(2)+(-7-1)^(2)} d= \sqrt{(6)^(2)+(-8)^(2)} d= √(36+64) d= √(100) or 10
