A tiling company completes two jobs. The first job has $1200 in labor expenses for 40 hours worked, while the second job has $1560 in labor expenses for 52 hours worked. The relationship between the labor expenses and the hours worked is linear. Which equation can be used to calculate the y-intercept of the linear equation?

1200 = 40(40) + b
1560 = 30(40) + b
1560 = 30(52) + b
1200 = 52(30) + b

the closest i can think of that makes since is 1560=30(52)+b, mainly because
30 x 52 = 1560 so that's what i think it is and if im wrong sry.

Answer:

The correct equation is 1560 = 30(52) + b

C is correct

Explanation:

A tiling company completes two jobs.

The first job has $1200 in labor expenses for 40 hours worked.

Point: (40,1200)

The second job has $1560 in labor expenses for 52 hours worked.

Point: (52,1560)

Using two point we make linear equation.

First we find the slope of line

m=(1560-1200)/(52-40)

m=(360)/(12)

m=30

Slope intercept form: y=mx+b

where, b is y-intercept

y=30x+b

Passing points: (52,1560) and (40,1200)

Possible equation to find y-intercept

1200 = 30(40) + b

1560 = 30(52) + b

Hence, The correct equation is 1560 = 30(52) + b
