Okay so we first can take out "y" and put in 27 since the question is stating that y=27.
Now we are going to Add 27 to both of the sides to make the problem look like this:
3x-27+27=18+27
Got it?
Now we have step 2.
Divide 3 by BOTH sides.

And you get 15, Therefore you have x=15
