The rectangle shown has a length (l) of 8 and a width (w) of 6.2. A second rectangle has a length of l + 2.5 and a width of w – 1.4. Find the area of the SECOND rectangle

So l=8 and 8+2.5=10.5
which means the length of the second rectangle is 10.5
w=6.2 and 6.2-1.4=4.8
which means the width of the second rectangle is 4.8
The formula for area of a rectangle is length×width
10.5×4.8=50.4 so the area of the second rectangle is 50.4 squared
