basically, solve for y

first undsitribute y
y(x+4)=3x-2
divide both sides by x+4
y=
(3x-2)/(x+4)

(xy+4y)/x = (3x-2)/x
(y+4y)/x = (3x-2)/x divide both side by x
5y /x = (3x-2)/x
5y= 3x-2 Mult by x both side
y= (3x-2)/5
