Solve for y to put the equation in the
slope, y-intercept form of y = mx + b

Given 4x + 3y = 12, solve for y

1) Subtract 4x from both sides
3y = - 4x + 12

2) Divide both sides by 3
y = (- 4/3)x + 4

ANSWER:
Slope = - 4/3
y intercept = 4
