ok so

remember properties of exponents
(ab)^c=(a^c)(b^c)
and
(x^y)^z)=x^(yz)

so

(4y^4)^3=(4^3)((y^4)^3)=(64)(y^(3*4))=(64)(y^12)=64y^4

answer is 64y^12
