to get to 8/12 you would have to x by 3
= 9/12 so that is wrongs

No since 8/12 is 2/3 in its simplest form (if u divide the numerator and denominator by 4) and also both fractions have different decimal values, 3/4=0.75 and 8/12=0.66666 recurring
