1. The county fair charges $1.25 per ticket for the rides. Jermaine bought 25 tickets for the rides and spent a total of $43.75 at the fair. Jermaine spent his money only on ride tickets and fair admission. The price of the fair admission is the same for everyone. Use y to represent the total cost and x to represent the number of ride tickets.

25 * 1.25 = 31.25 43.75 – 31.25 = Fair Admission. Fair Admission = $12.50

B) We don’t need variables.

C) Don't use algebra unless you have to.

My teacher told me to not use algebra in this situation.

Answer:

y=1.25x+12.5

Explanation:

Let y represents the total cost and x represents the number of ride tickets.

The county fair charges $1.25 per ticket for the rides.

Jermaine bought 25 tickets for the rides and spent a total of $43.75 at the fair.

Cost for ride tickets =
25*1.25=31.25 dollars

Amount left after tickets =
43.75-31.25 = $12.50

Now we get the equation as:

y=1.25x+12.5

Here, y is the total cost, 1.25 is the price per ticket and x is the number of tickets and 12.5 is the admission cost.
