yes !!
rational numbers are those which can be written in the form of p/q , where q is not equal to 0 ....and p and q are real integers ...
so 5/8 is a rational number ...

5/8 is a rational number because 5/8 as a percentage is 62.5. As long as the number doesn't go on forever without any patterns, it will be a rational number. If it does go on forever and doesn't have a pattern then it is an irrational number.
