$256 / 100 = 2.56
2.56 x 23 = 58.88

$256 - $58.88 = $197.12

The sale price is $197.12
The decrease in price is $58.88

Hope it helped :)

Answer:

Decrease in price is $ 58.88 and sales price is $ 197.12

Explanation:

Given,

The orginal price of the coat = $ 256,

Percentage of discount = 23%,

Thus, the decrease in price = 23% of the original price

= 23% of 256

=(23* 256)/(100)

=(5888)/(100)

= $ 58.88

Also, the sales price of the coat = original cost - decrease in price

= 256 - 58.88

= $ 197.12
