The third alternative is correct (C).

In many times colonization used violent and controversial mechanisms. For example, the physical violence against the Indians, the financial violence against the colonies by imposing the purchase of manufactured goods only from England at high prices. Naturally these practices caused criticism by some people who did not agree with these more violent actions.
