Answer:
(17)/(20)

Explanation:

Given: The total number of caps = 80

The number of green caps = 12

Then , the number of caps which are not green =
80-12=68

If 1 of the 80 caps is selected at random, what is the probability it will NOT be green is given by :-

\text{P(Not green)}=\frac{\text{Caps not green}}{\text{Total caps}}\\\\\Rightarrow\ \text{P(Not green)}=(68)/(80)=(17)/(20)

Hence, the probability it will NOT be green
=(17)/(20)

Probabilit is positive events / total number of events

In this case the positive events is to pick a cap that is not green and the total number is 80 (the number of caps).

The number of not green caps is 80 - 12 = 68.

Then the probability the cap selected will not be green is 68 / 80 = 17 / 20
