What are your thoughts on human-made protective structures and beach-nourishment projects? Are they worth the time, money, and ecological harm? Discuss at least one benefit and one drawback of each of these human attempts to counteract natural shoreline process.

Nature will always win. Piers, groins, breakers, beach replenishment are ways to hold back erosion of beaches.
Man always wants to halt time so a large beach will stay a large beach.
A big storm can wash away years of replenishment and the cost is high.
New sand is pumped from deeper water disrupting animal and plant life.
hope this helps
