2.3x + 1.2 + 2.5x = 9.2 - 4.3
4.8x + 1.2 = 9.2 - 4.3x
4.8x = 8 - 4.3x
9.1x = 8
x = 0.87

first lets subract 1.2 from each side to get
2.3x+2.5x=8-4.3x
Then Combine like terms to get
4.8x+8-4.3x
Then add 4.3 to each side
9.1x=8
x equals about 0.88
