These were some of the literary forms applied in Medieval period. Several of these, were taken from Greeks, like allegories, which consisted in representing an idea using familiar forms, like humans, animals or objects.

Also, dialogues and commentaries was found in first place on Aristotle. Because he was centered in rhetoric.

Allegory and Allegoresis: used to allow readers to find a hidden meaning
Meditation, Soliloquy: used to show what the character is thinking

Writers employ these literary forms to enhance their writing, and make the readers more engaged.
