y = - 0.408

Explanation:

this is a solve by substitution problem. you know what x is from the first equation so you plug that into the second equation and solve for y. then when you know y you can plug y back into any equation to find x.

y=10(5y)+20 (substitute x)

y=50y+20 (subtract 50y from both sides)

-49y=20 (divide each side by -49)

y= -0.408

x=5(-0.408) (plug y in)

x= -2.04
