because oxygen has 6 valence electrons and there are only 2 electrons that a lone.

The valence shell of Oxygen contains 6 electrons. Therefore, for completion of the octet, each Oxygen atom requires two electrons. This means that each atom will supply two electrons in the bond. So the correct option is B.
