Answer:

option C ( 12 , -1) .

Explanation:

Given : x − 2y = 14 ; x + 3y = 9 .

To find : Solve the following system of equations:

x − 2y = 14 --------equation (1)

(-) x +(-) 3y = (-)9 --------equation (2)

___________________

- 5y = 5 ( on subtracting equation (1) and (2) )

On dividing by -5 both side we get,

y = -1 .

On substituting y = -1 in equation (1).

x - 2(-1) = 14.

x + 2 = 14.

On subtracting by 2 both side

x = 14-2 = 12

x = 12.

( 12 , -1)

Therefore , option C ( 12 , -1) .
