1) Factoring , we have:

Which 2 number whose sum is -4 and their product is 3?

x²-4x+3

S = _-1__ + _-3__ = -4

P= __-1_ x _-3__ = 3

Plugging in the opposite numbers, we can factor them as:

(x-1)(x+3)=0

2) The x-intercepts are the x-values where y = 0

3) so to find these x-values, you can apply the Associative Property

And turn the y=x²-4x+3 Into the factored form (x-1)(x+3)=0

4) And set each factor equal to zero

x-1 = 0

x=1

x+3=0

x=-3

Then you'd find the x-intercepts are the solution.
