we have the system of equations

y=x-3 -------> equation 1

y=-x+5 -----> equation 2

step 1

For the first line

we need two points

For x=0

y=0-3

y=-3

point (0,-3)

For x=3

y=3-3

y=0

point (3,0)

therefore

For the first line we have the points (0,-3) and (3,0)

step 2

For the second line

For x=0

y=0+5

y=5

point (0,5)

For x=5

y=-5+5

y=0

point (5,0)

therefore

For the second line we have the points (0,5) and (5,0)

step 3

Graph both lines

to graph the line we need to plot the points and join them

using a graphing tool

see the attached figure

please wait a minute

Y equals x minus 3y equals negative x + 5 graph these two points-example-1
