Will is at a shirt sale where he can buy one and get a second one for 40 percent off. He wants to buy two shirts priced at $29 each. How much will he pay? cost after discount = (2 × list price) – (list price × discount percentage)

I do not know who they are teaching you this, but all I did was subtract 40% from $29 for the second shirt, then added the shirt that costs $29 and the shirt that now costs $17.40 with the discount. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe your answer should be $46.40
