You can simplify the expression by doing the distributive law of property.

-4(x - 7) would become -4x * 28.
And 3(x + 9) would become 3x + 9

Because the law of distributive property states that a(b + c) = ab + ac

Now let's put back the expression.

-4x + 28 + 3x + 9

Now, let's combine like terms. 28 and 9 are like terms...
Let's add them together. 28 + 9 = 37.

-4x + 37 + 3x

And also, -4x and 3x are like terms. Add them up. -4x + 3x = -x

Now here's the final expression.

-x + 37
