Nation means a socio-cultural group of persons grounded on communal culture, civilization and language. A state is a radical entity with defined geographic limitations in addition to the capability to create and apply laws as a government and interrelate with other states on a global level. A nation-state is an independent state with countries and leading bureaucrats who are culturally homogeneous and own a shared sense of nationality.

I believe the answer is: Holiday Tradition

In a nation state, even though the country consist of several states that are capable to operate on their own, the country is still united by the usage of a same language and establishment of national holidays that must be followed by all states. In America, we can see this in things such as christmas holidays, Thanksgiving holiday, etc.
