If a recipe calls for
2(2)/(3) cups of flour and Terell wants to make
(3)/(4) of the recipe, then in order to determine how much flour he should use, he has to multiply
2(2)/(3) by
(3)/(4).

Note that

2(2)/(3)=(2\cdot 3+2)/(3)=(8)/(3).

Therefore,

2(2)/(3)\cdot (3)/(4)=(8)/(3)\cdot (3)/(4)=(8\cdot 3)/(3\cdot 4)=2 cups of flour.

Answer: 2 cups of flour - choice D
