How do I Solve 4y + 3 = 2y + 14 ???

4y+3=2y+14
subtract 2y from both sides to get the y figures on the same side.

2y+3=14
Then subract 3 from both sides to get the number values on the other side.

2y=11
Divide by 2 to get y alone.

y=(11)/(2)

y= 5.5
