7/10 x 8 = 5 6/10
15 5/8 - 5 6/10 = 10 1/40
10 1/40 / 7/10 = 14 9/28
so he can make 14 more bowls and 9/28 of another bowl so you round down to 14 complete bowls.

Answer:

He can make 14 more bowls.

Explanation:

Given : Gabriel has
15(5)/(8) pounds of clay. He will use
(7)/(10) pound to make each bowl.

To find : After making 8 bowls he wonders how many more bowls he can make ?

Solution :

Gabriel has
15(5)/(8)=(125)/(8) pounds of clay.

For 1 bowl he use
(7)/(10) pound.

For 8 bowl he use
(7)/(10)* 8 pound.

For 8 bowl he use
(56)/(10) pound.

The clay left to make rest bowl is given by,

r=(125)/(8)-(56)/(10)

r=(1250-448)/(80)

r=(802)/(80)

From
(7)/(10) pound of clay he make 1 bowl.

From
(802)/(80) pound of clay he can make
((802)/(80))/((7)/(10)) bowl.

From
(802)/(80) pound of clay he can make
(802* 10)/(80* 7) bowl.

From
(802)/(80) pound of clay he can make
14.3 bowl.

i.e. Approximately he can make 14 more bowls.
