6+4+3+5=18, there are 4 blue marbles so then it's 4/18 which is then simplified to 2/9

Answer:

The probability that George will draw a blue marble is
(2)/(9)

Explanation:

Given : A container that contains 6 red, 4 blue, 3 yellow and 5 green marbles.

To find : The probability that George will draw a blue marble from a container?

Solution :

\text{Probability}=\frac{\text{Favorable outcome}}{\text{Total number of outcome}}

A container that contains 6 red, 4 blue, 3 yellow and 5 green marbles.

George will draw a blue marble.

Favorable outcome (blue marble was drawn) = 4

Total number of outcome = 6+4+3+5=18

\text{Probability}=\frac{\text{Favorable outcome}}{\text{Total number of outcome}}

\text{Probability}=(4)/(18)

\text{Probability}=(2)/(9)

Therefore, The probability that George will draw a blue marble is

(2)/(9)
