We will determine the values of b & c as follows:

*First: We remember both equation forms:

*General form:

f(x)=ax^2+bx+c

*Vertex form:

f(x)=a(x-h)^2+k

Here (h, k) is the vertex.

Then we will proceed from the vertex from to the general form and solve for b & c:

f(x)=20(x-6)^2-2\Rightarrow f(x)=20(x^2-12x+36)-2
\Rightarrow f(x)=20x^2-240x+718

Then:

\begin{cases}b=-240 \\ c=718\end{cases}

This, can be seen as follows:

Find b and c so that y = 20.x2 + bx + c has vertex (6, - 2). с — > Next Question-example-1
