8.1x - 4.5y = 5.4.....subtract 8.1x from both sides
-4.5y = -8.1x + 5.4...divide both sides by -4.5
y = (- 8.1/-4.5)x + 5.4 / -4.5...simplify
y = 1.8x - 1.2 <==

Answer:

The solution for y is
y =(8.1x-5.4)/(4.5) or
y =1.8x-1.2

Explanation:

Consider the provided equation.

8.1x - 4.5y = 5.4

Solve the equation for y.

Subtract 8.1x to the both side.

- 4.5y = 5.4-8.1x

Divide both the sides by -4.5

y =(5.4-8.1x)/(-4.5)

y =(8.1x-5.4)/(4.5)

or
y =1.8x-1.2

Hence, the solution for y is
y =(8.1x-5.4)/(4.5) or
y =1.8x-1.2
