Slope-intercept form of a line:
y=mx+b
m=slope

We have this equation of a line:
y=2x+3
The slope of the line will be; m=2
Ohter line that is parallel to this line(y=2x+3) will have the same slope, therefore the slope will be: m=2

Point-slope form: we need a point (x₀,y₀) and the slope:
y-y₀=m(x-x₀).

We have thel point (-4,1) and the slope:
therefore:
y-1=2(x+4) (point-slope form)
y-1=2x+8
y=2x+8+1
y=2x+9 (slope-intercept form).

answer: the equation of the line that is parallel to this line y=2x+3 , is:
y=2x+9
