The organism belongs to PHYLUM PORIFERA. Animals in phylum porifera are the simplest of all animals; they are commonly called sponges. They are multicellular animals which can be found either in the oceans or in fresh waters. Their bodies are cylindrical and have radial symmetry. Their bodies develop from two cell layers. They have special cells for digestion and support.
